ORMEC News – 'Major Success' with Major Join Installation at Boeing

Reducing the time it takes to align and join the wings and body of C-17 military aircraft was one of the key objectives met with the recent upgrade of the Major Join system at Boeing’s Long Beach facility.

“Once again the ORMEC team demonstrated our ability to cost-effectively retrofit an aging control system with our latest hardware and software technology. Strong application knowledge, engineering and project management expertise made this project a major success”, says Ed Krasnicki, President and CEO of ORMEC.

The on-time installation of the system included SMLC controllers, servo motors and drives, an operator interface with remote pendant stations and a SCADA system interface.
